COVID-19 may have disrupted education as an institution worldwide, but it has not dampened the DATEM spirit of malasakit and the company’s advocacy for inclusive learning.
The Philippine Green Building Council (PhilGBC) has launched the latest version of BERDE Green Building Rating System (GBRS), BERDE - Version 4.0.0, last June 22, 2021. BERDE GBRS - Version 4.0.0 introduced a few socio-economic priorities for green buildings, including impacts of the project to health and well-being, community engagement, and economic opportunities.
DATEM ramps up its operations as it breaches the second half of the year, with at least 32% of its total projects expected to be completed by yearend, this despite the operational restrictions brought about by the pandemic. The residential category takes up the bulk of its total ongoing projects, 78.60% of which are located within key hubs in Metro Manila, followed by office buildings and mixed-use developments. The rest of its ongoing portfolio includes hotels and casinos, malls, a railway, school, reservoir, and sewage treatment plant. With health and safety protocols strictly enforced in its project sites and a company vaccination program being rolled out, DATEM remains optimistic about the industry and commits to strengthen its own capacity and capability, gearing up to engage in infrastructure projects to further its contributions to nation-building.
DATEM opened the second half of the year with almost 30% of its employees already vaccinated against COVID-19, a welcome development in the company’s Project Bakuna Now Campaign launched early this year. On July 13, DATEM employees got their first jab of Moderna vaccines at a vaccination site set up in Three Parkade in Bonifacio Global City. The COVID-19 vaccines were procured by the company through the consortium of the Philippine Constructors Association, and were rolled out following the vaccination framework by the Department of Health. The second batch of vaccines is expected to arrive and shall be administered to employees in September to benefit those based outside Metro Manila, while rollout completion is targeted within the fourth quarter of this year. This company-wide vaccination program is aligned with the company’s goal of reaching at least 90% vaccination status by year-end, as it aims to bolster its operations and sustain its momentum for 2022.
Amid the unprecedented impact of COVID-19 and with entire Luzon placed under Enhanced Community Quarantine, DATEM remains committed to supporting communities and keeping the value of malasakit alive.
