DATEM director Engr. Morris S. Agoncillo recently received a distinction as one of the 75 Most Outstanding Alumni of the University of the East (UE), as the institution celebrates its Diamond Jubilee this September 2021.
The recognition aims to acknowledge and appreciate the mark Engr. Morris has made in the fields of Civil Engineering and construction, as well as his invaluable contribution to society and the country.
“I am honored to receive this recognition from my beloved Alma Mater.,” Engr. Morris shares. “I congratulate the entire UE community as it marks its milestone 75th anniversary, especially with the launch of the Scholarship Fund Drive, which will help financially disadvantaged students get better access to quality education.
“More than the merriment and fanfare, I join UE in celebrating its enduring legacy of producing responsible, productive future leaders whose ethics are grounded on excellence, innovation, integrity, and malasakit.”
Engr.Morris graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from UE in 1980.
In 1984, he founded DATEM together with Engrs. Levy V. Espiritu and Lilit J. Tumbocon, and Arch. Arnold P. De Asis. Thirty-seven years hence, the company has grown to be one of the most trusted contractors in the country, with a Quadruple A accreditation from the Philippine Constructors Accreditation Board, and dual ISO certifications for its Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2015) and Environmental Management System (ISO 14001:2015).
