At the heart of the Digital Transformation journey of DATEM is its people.
This is the central message of the first ever DATEM DigiMeet, from December 5 to 15, 2022, at the Head Office and selected project sites.
DigiMeet 2022 was organized to mark the culmination of the initial phases of the company’s Digital Transformation Initiative that began in 2020 and to power up the momentum that it has gained since its inception, which will lead up to more aggressive changes in 2023.
Best practices
The initiative initially saw the launch of significant upgrades to the company’s digital infrastructure and business processes.
This in turn paved the way for the implementation of new systems and applications that are more responsive to employees’ needs, offer greater flexibility, and follow industry best practices, thus allowing for increased employee collaboration, productivity, and efficiency.
But beyond technological upgrades, a big part of the company’s digital transformation journey entails nurturing a culture of innovation among its employees.
Culture of innovation
“The success of our Digital Transformation Initiative rests heavily on creating and sustaining a culture of innovation and adaptation. Of embracing change and making change work for us,” emphasizes DATEM President Arch. Lesley E. Villanueva.
She adds, “The goal here is to strike a balance between change and continuity. And this is something people – not technology – can do.”
To achieve this cultural shift, DATEM Management emphasizes the value of capacity-building initiatives and learning sessions to equip employees with the technical know-how and skills in using new and unfamiliar applications.
Cloud-based
Aside from underlining the milestones of the Digital Transformation Initiative, DigiMeet 2022 also provided the perfect venue for the end-user training of its new Human Resources Information and Payroll System, a cloud-based solution implemented to automate transactions, centralize data, and streamline HR and Payroll procedures.
All these efforts form part of the company’s long-term strategy to future-proof its business and remain agile amid global disruptions.
In 2023, DATEM will carry on with its digital transformation journey, discovering and adapting to the changes, as it remains committed to offer Total Value-Engineered construction to its clients through innovation and technology.
