Amid the unprecedented impact of COVID-19 and with entire Luzon placed under Enhanced Community Quarantine, DATEM remains committed to supporting communities and keeping the value of malasakit alive.
Flatten the curve
To help in efforts to flatten the curve, DATEM built Emergency Quarantine Facilities (EQF) at the National Kidney Institute and Philippine Army General Hospital. Made of wood and plastic, these temporary structures aim to help decongest hospitals in Manila and assist the healthcare system in its endeavor to fight COVID-19.
Aside from EQFs, DATEM also donated swabbing booths to Quezon City General Hospital, Novaliches District Hospital, and Rosario Maclang Bautista General Hospital. Similar to the ones used in South Korea, these booths are used to take swab samples to be subjected to COVID-19 tests. Use of these booths reduces the exposure of healthcare workers to potential positive cases.
Meanwhile, the company also donated structural steel, roofing, and aggregates in the construction of the Quarantine Facility of The Medical City, Sta. Rosa. It also provided volunteer workers, who made it possible to complete the project in only 14 days. Said hospital has four ICU rooms, eight private rooms, medical staff housing, toilets, and negative pressure facilities.
