In time for the World Day for Safety and Health at Work celebration, DATEM won awards and distinctions at the 15th National Construction Safety Conference organized by the Safety Organization of the Philippines (SOPI) on Friday, April 26.
Seven of DATEM’s ongoing projects and facilities received recognition, namely the Perfect Safety Record, Award of Honor, Award of Merit, Award of Distinction, and Award of Excellence for achieving Safe Man-Hours without Lost Time Accident from 2020 up to March 2024.
The Shang Residences at Wack Wack project in Mandaluyong City bagged two awards: the Award of Excellence for achieving 7.2 million Safe Man-Hours without Lost Time Accident the Perfect Safety Record Award.
The Offices at the Galleon project also received two distinctions: the Award of Honor for achieving 4.2 million Safe Man-Hours without Lost Time Accident and the Perfect Safety Record Award.
DATEM’s project in Cebu, the Abaca Resort Hotel project, logged 1.4 million Safe Man-Hours without Lost Time Accident receiving the Award of Merit recognition along with DATEM’s head office in Quezon City.
SOPI also honored the following with the Perfect Safety Record Award: Head Office, Copeton Baysuites Project, and Cavite Precast Yard, which also received the Award of Honor.
The Award of Distinction was given to the Cainta Yard Equipment Department and the Copeton Baysuites Project.
Meanwhile, DATEM’s occupational health practitioner, Victor John Binuya, was among the Ten Outstanding Safety Practitioners awarded during the ceremony.

Receiving this award is not just a personal achievement but a testament to my team’s hard work and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment,” Binuya proudly shared.
SOPI, together with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Occupational Safety and Health Center, organized the national construction safety conference to honor companies that achieved excellent safety performance of continuous man-hours with no lost time accident or had no lost time, injury, or accident on projects.
“These recognitions reflect our values of prioritizing safety in our projects and services. Our environmental, safety, and health (ESH) culture inculcates our people with dedication and malasakit to our clients, colleagues, and the environment. These recognitions move us to continue building sustainable excellence for the benefit of industry and society,” DATEM President Lesley Villanueva said.
