DATEM completes 15B Php infrastructure projects in 2022

In another turning point, DATEM, a leading construction firm, significantly contributed to the country’s infrastructure with 15 billion PHP worth of completed projects in 2022, beating the 2021 record by 10 billion. This is a step up by the company as construction projects regain momentum after being affected by economic challenges and impeded work due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Construction of high-rise building projects for commercial, residential, and corporate offices, as well as rehabilitation projects for wastewater and environmental preservation facilities, are the major contributors to this milestone. These projects are situated in highly urbanized locations in the metro and will positively contribute to its economic, social, and environmental aspects.
Hotel Okura in Newport City was issued a Certificate of Completion by the client, Travellers International Hotel Group, Inc. The hotel will help jumpstart the tourism economy after being greatly dampened by the pandemic.
“It is imperative for us to shape the Philippine skyline and recalibrate our efforts to bring modern infrastructure while complying with international industry standards. Now more than ever, we are committed to building the nation and helping it recover from the pandemic, taking into consideration the economic challenges recently,” DATEM President Ar. Lesley Espiritu-Villanueva said.
The tourism economy, which was greatly dampened by the pandemic, but the completion of three (3) world-class hotels: Sheraton, Okura, and Hilton hotel and building in Newport City in Pasay City will help jumpstart the tourism activities in the country. These accommodations and recreation buildings will cater to business and leisure travelers in the business and entertainment districts in Metro South.
Included also in the list are the One Le Grand Tower and the substructure of Aurelia Residences in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. The One Le Grand Tower was Gold-certified in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) system by the US Green Building Council. Buildings with LEED certification have raised the standards for energy efficiency, water conservation, site and material selection, day lighting, and waste reduction.
Another significant project completed is the University of Santo Tomas Senior High School building, which houses 110 classrooms, 9 laboratories, 2 library floors, recreational areas, and parking levels that will benefit more than 7,000 senior high school students and school staff.
Aside from institutional and residential projects, DATEM reconstructed a wastewater facility – the Robinsons Place Galleria Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) project. The project will ensure the sustained care and preservation of rivers, especially the Pasig River, as the water will no longer be a pollutant when it is returned to the waterways.
“These projects and those to be finished this year define our clients’ and stakeholders’ continued trust in us in our 40-year history. These merit effective partnerships with our clients, contractors, suppliers, and organizations, and showcase our adherence to government policies as continued manifestations of treasuring their trust,” Villanueva added.
This 2023, DATEM expects the completion of more monumental projects, including the recent LEED Platinum version 4.1 certified, Makati Commerce Tower and Php 1.6B-project Savya Financial Tower.
The company also anticipates the physical completion of the four (4) stations of the LRT 1 Cavite Extension Project for which DATEM served as the subcontractor to Bouygues Travaux Publics, namely MIA Road, Asia World, Ninoy Aquino, and Dr. Santos. This first phase of the project covers 7 km of the 11.7 km, which will service 800,000 passengers per day once operational.
