COVID-19 may have disrupted education as an institution worldwide, but it has not dampened the DATEM spirit of malasakit and the company’s advocacy for inclusive learning.
In its most recent move to help financially challenged students gain access to quality education, DATEM donated P100,000 for the benefit of the Scholarship Fund Drive of the University of the East (UE).
Launched on September 1, 2021 to mark the 75th founding anniversary of UE, the scholarship fund aims to extend a helping hand and mitigate the effects of the pandemic to deserving but financially challenged students.
DATEM Director Engr. Morris S. Agoncillo, an alumnus of UE, shares, “Education has become more of a privilege nowadays, especially with the pandemic. But I hope that through this partnership with UE, DATEM can make a positive difference in the lives of its students, and one day see them turn into productive members of society. Who will in turn make positive change in the lives of others and give back to their community.”
